The Rainbo Gardens was both a café and an entertainment center in 1920. Vaudeville, cabarets, and sporting events all took place at the $2 million dollar building. The location was a top target of law officials because of illegal drinking and gambling. The authorities ordered it to close in 1929. It re-opened and closed again several times and is scheduled to be demolished.
