Kessel Residence

Reinhold Kessel was born in Germany in 1838. He settled in Chicago with his wife Caroline in 1870. In 1872  they made their home at 29 Chapin Avenue (now 1319 W. Haddon Avenue). Mr. Kessel worked as a teamster. By 1880  the Kessels and their children had moved to Maywood  Illinois. Caroline Kessel died in 1881  and Reinhold remarried later the same year to Bertha Bahr. Reinhold Kessel died in 1910 and was buried at Concordia Cemetery in Forest Park  Illinois.
