Holub Residence

Josef (Joseph) Holub was born in Lestina, Bohemia (now Czech Republic) in 1832. He arrived in Chicago in 1857. He married Barbara Vostaupol, also a Bohemian immigrant. By 1880, the couple and their three children lived at 126 Taylor Street (now 539 W. Taylor Street). Joseph, a carpenter, died in 1898, and Barbara in 1917. They are buried at Bohemian National Cemetery in Chicago.
