Ho Chunk Chicago Branch Office

Street Address:
4738 N. Milwaukee Ave.
Chicago, IL

This is the current address for the Ho Chunk Chicago Branch Office. It is in the Jefferson Park neighborhood, just south of the Kennedy express portion of I-90. After the relocation program was enacted in 1950's, it was important for tribes to provide services to their citizens that the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) would not provide. Since Chicago became a major center for relocation, the members of individual tribes needed a place where they could go to receive help from their fellow citizens. The Ho Chunk Nation offers this help through their Chicago based office today because even though the relocation program ended in the 1970s, the trend was not reversed.
