Nicolaus Thielen was born in Mehren Dounn Trier Germany on 12 June 1812. He married Anna Maria Reimann / Rhemann in Germany. They settled in Chicago in 1853. Anna died 15 March 1854 and Nicolaus died 25 April 1884. They are now buried in St. Boniface Cemetery, Chicago.
