Frank Wallish (originally Frantisek Wallis) was born in Kralovic, Bohemia (now Czech Republic) in 1823. He married Antonie Slavik in 1848, and the couple came to Chicago with their children around 1867. Frank worked as a cigarmaker. In the 1880s, the Wallish family lived on Kramer Street (now the 700 block of West 13th Street). By the 1890s, Frank and Antonie resided at 140 Dekoven Street (now 561 W. Dekoven Street). Mr. Wallish became a U.S. citizen in 1893, just months before the death of his wife Antonie. By the turn of the century, Frank still lived at the Dekoven Street address, but worked as a tailor. He died in 1902, and was buried alongside Antonie at Bohemian National Cemetery in Chicago.
For further details, contact the Chicago Genealogical Society. Frank Wallish is Pioneer Ancestor number 251.
