Litterscheid Brehm Residence

Catherine Litterscheid was born 7 October 1849 in Lauthausen, Siegkreis, Rheinland,Prussia. After arriving in the U.S., her family lived in Bureau County, Illinois prior to moving to Chicago in 1866.

In 1866 Catherine married her first husband, Frank Peter Brehm who was born 18 April 1840 in Altenbodingen, Siegkreis, Rheinland,Prussia. By 1870, their family was living on Wentworth St. between 32nd and 33rd Streets.

Frank died 14 February 1927 in Calumet City, Illinois. He is buried in Oak Hill cemetery in Hammond, Indiana.

In 1887 Catherine married her second husband, William Lewis Hale who was born 29 December 1855 in Albany, New York. Catherine died 30 August 1928 in Chicago. William died 18 April 1941. They are both buried in St. Mary cemetery, Evergreen Park, Illinois.
