Includes the courtship and post-marriage correspondence of Lydia and John, who worked for Marshall Field, and correspondence from family and friends in and around Chicago and the Minnesota Territory -- describing family matters, farming, agricultural labor (brother), the Civil War at home and from the front, and Indian troubles in Minnesota. Also minutes, notes and other documents relating to Lydia Edwards' active role in the Dundee chapter of the Women's Christian Temperance Union and her attendance at national conventions.
