When the congregation of Trinity Church outgrew the previous location on W Madison St., a new building was constructed on E Jackson Blvd between S Wabash Ave and S Michigan Ave. The church was later destroyed in the great Chicago fire of 1871 and the congregation moved to rented quarters. The Jackson property was sold.
