The cemetery was founded by Andrew Kircher in 1902 and is still owned and operated by his descendants. A monument dedicated to the Iroquois Theater Fire is located in Montrose Cemetery. They also honor the fallen heroes of today by offering a free burial lot to Chicago Police officers and Fire Fighters who perish in the line of duty.
